Catering Apprenticeships: Our production chef level 2 apprenticeship is a 13-month placement delivered via blended learning with one-to-one support. Our advanced catering level 3 apprenticeship is a 15-month placement delivered via blended learning with one-to-one support.

About Busy Bees Education and Training

As an award-winning apprenticeship provider, we deliver over 70 apprenticeshipsaccredited courses and CPD programmes and first aid training. All our UK apprenticeships require qualifications, but don’t worry if you haven’t achieved the necessary ones yet. We offer functional skill courses that allow you to develop your essential Maths and English skills to help you secure the required qualifications. 

Production Chef Level 2

Production chefs work as part of a team in time-bound and often challenging kitchen environments such as schools, hospitals, early years, and care homes. They report to the senior production chef or their appropriate line manager.

Production chefs are likely to work with centrally developed standardised recipes and menus, producing food often in high volumes. They apply highly methodical organisational skills, energy, accuracy, and attention to detail and are mindful of the importance of sustainability and protecting the environment.

Our level 2 production chef apprenticeship is meticulously crafted to provide essential guidance and expertise to individuals in positions such as trainee chef, junior chef, and similar roles.

Senior Production Chef Level 3

Senior production chefs may lead a team or may support the head chef in larger establishments. They report activities to the Head Chef or appropriate line manager. They supervise production chef teams in a variety of kitchen environments. Job roles include Head Chef, Second Chef, Kitchen Manager/ Supervisor, Cook. Senior production chefs have accountability for the day-to-day running of the kitchen service, producing, monitoring and maintaining consistent food standards, legislative requirements and quality across all areas and during all stages of production and supply.
