As part of a fast-paced store team, your top priority will be to provide outstanding service and excellent stock operations to our customers. In return for supporting all Company policies and procedures and having a great attitude to work, we will invest in you and your development from day one. Flexible working options are available.

Key responsibilities

As part of our in-store team, you’ll work on the sales floor, in the stockroom, or across both areas, playing an important role in keeping the store running smoothly. Every shift matters in this fast-paced environment.

On the sales floor, you’ll:

  • Offer fast and friendly service at all times, helping our customers to find the perfect products
  • Share your passion and knowledge about our amazing products
  • Work in all areas of the store, including sales floors, stockrooms and processing deliveries
  • Take control of your own development

In the stockroom, you’ll:

  • Efficiently process deliveries and replenish the sales floor to ensure it remains fully stocked and presentable
  • Pick, pack, and transfer stock to meet customer timescales and ensure accurate parcel processing
  • Keep the back of house clean, safe and organised

Where needed, you may support both areas.

Profile

We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable and ready to get stuck in. You don’t need previous retail experience – we’re looking for a great attitude, a willingness to learn and people who enjoy being part of a team.

  • A great communicator who’s always looking for ways you can help
  • Friendly, calm and efficient – even on your busiest days
  • Excited about the challenge of a varied and fast-paced job
  • Flexible, supportive and always ready to go the extra mile

Benefits

  • Recognition and rewards for doing a great job and achieving great results (after 1 week’s service)
  • 25% off most NEXT, MADE, Lipsy, Gap and Victoria’s Secret products (available after 1 week’s service when purchased through NEXT)
  • 10% off most partner brands & up to 15% off Branded Beauty (after 1 week’s service)
  • 60% off a generous (optional) working wardrobe allowance to buy clothes to wear for work (minimum 6 week contract)
  • Early VIP access to sale stock
  • Hot deals and exclusive offers from over 3,500 retailers through our online benefits platform
  • Access to fantastic discounts at our Staff Shops
  • Access a digital GP and other free health and wellbeing services
  • Support Networks – Access to Network Groups to empower and celebrate each other
  • Wellhub – Discounted flexible monthly gym memberships, with apps, PT sessions and more

Conditions apply to all benefits. These benefits are discretionary and subject to change.

What’s Next:

As part of your application, you will be required to complete an online assessment. This will involve a Working with Numbers Assessment and a Retail Scenarios Assessment. Our in-store recruitment team will then review successfully completed applications, and those that match the job criteria most closely will be contacted to arrange an initial Interview so we can chat and learn more about you.

In order to apply for this position, you must not have had an unsuccessful online assessment (as detailed above) in the last 6 months.

Important Information:

Successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work before commencement of employment.

We would not typically consider this role for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route because, for example, the relevant Home Office skills-level requirements are not met. Candidates are therefore encouraged to consider their own right-to-work options without NEXT sponsorship.

Equal opportunities

We aim to support all candidates during the application process and are happy to provide workplace adjustments when necessary. Should you need support with your application due to a disability or long-term condition, feel free to get in touch with us by email careers@next.co.uk (please include ‘Workplace Adjustments’ in the subject line), or call us on 0116 479 2223 / 0044 116 479 2223 (line opening times are Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm; Friday 9am – 4.45pm; Saturday 9am – 5pm & Sunday 9am – 4pm. Excludes bank holidays).
